This bracelet features a mix of single-strand and four-strand sections, crafted with antique white seed beads and emerald blue antique beads. The white beads are old seed beads from India, bearing a worn texture that speaks to their long history of wear, likely from the 19th to 20th centuries. (Small bead size: 2-3mm) The larger beads are believed to have originated in Venice before making their way to India. The indigo blue beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads, with origins dating back to the 2nd century BC. These particular beads are archaeological finds from Indonesia, remarkably over 1000 years old, from around the 10th century! Upon closer inspection, you can appreciate the varied shades of blue within them. The golden beads are old Orissa brass, rare and ancient beads sourced from the Orissa region of India. The clasp features small Karen silver beads, each meticulously engraved by hand – a testament to the incredible craftsmanship. ◇Karen Silver◇ This silver is crafted by the mountain tribes living in Thai Burma. Each piece is handmade and said to be of very high purity. The clasp for this bracelet is made from a shell that was once part of an old tribal necklace.
