Fired after being coated with the deeply textured Sakura Kiln-Changed Glaze. Firing at a slightly higher temperature than usual allows the crystals to cover the entire piece, resulting in an elegant cherry blossom hue. The same clay and glaze used for tableware are employed, allowing it to be used as a container for small items, a confectionery dish, or even for serving food. When used as a container for small items, you can store sewing notions like buttons and threaders, or keep rings and earrings. As a confectionery dish, it's perfect for your favorite candies or konpeito. For serving food, it can hold small appetizers like Japanese delicacies or chawanmushi (savory egg custard), or be used to present ice cream topped with finely chopped fruit to guests. Enjoy it in various ways. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and electric potter's wheel. Therefore, I apply a waterproof treatment to all pottery before it is sent to you. Pottery that has undergone waterproof treatment does not require initial seasoning (mejime) at home. After receiving it, a light wash is all that's needed before use. Items already treated will be shipped within 3 days.
