The Tao people have adhered to these instructions for generations, and the flying fish schools have kept their promise, returning to the agreed-upon waters each March. The flying fish season is divided into three stages: the "Summoning Fish Festival," the "Collection Festival," and the "End-of-Eating Festival," all embodying reverence for the natural environment and aspirations for sustainable ecology. Formosan Black Bear: The Formosan Black Bear is the guardian of the mountains. Legend has it that they once stood alongside the indigenous people, defending against invaders and wild beasts. Later, the tribes and the black bears made a pact, settling together in the Yushan mountain range—the black bears watching from high above, warding off external threats; the people protecting the land, with mutual non-aggression. From then on, encounters in the mountains were no longer a source of fear but a tacit understanding of mutual watchfulness. Formosan Landlocked Salmon: In the cool streams of Taiwan's high mountains, the Formosan Landlocked Salmon swim upstream, navigating swift currents and blossoming with life's miracle.
