Design Interpretation: This piece uses porous basalt to emulate the coastal reefs of Nordic fjords, standing tall yet understated. It is adorned with light green moss and feathery ferns, symbolizing a micro-ecosystem within rock crevices, representing life's persistence even in harsh environments. The base is layered with fine blue and white sand, gradually progressing like the gentle lapping of water, creating the soft murmur of water and stone in the fjord. The overall composition is serene and layered, just as the poem suggests: "hearing the rocks breathe slowly."
