Japanese Mizuhiki knots are made of Japanese paper, and are also very particular about color matching and the number of ropes. The experiential class will start with an introduction to the origin and meaning of the mizuhiki knot, and participants will learn to weave different mizuhiki knots, make finished mizuhiki products from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, and experience the beauty of Japanese art! 💕 💮In the class, we will introduce the origin of suihiki knot, the types of suihiki knotting materials and the use of tools, etc., and learn to make three basic suihiki knots (including Awaji knot, plum knot and flat plum knot). After participants learn to weave three basic water knots, they will then make a small double plum knot ornament*.
