A Small, Dainty Single-Flower Vase with Autumnal Hues

Fine-grained white clay with the simple charm of pottery. This is a small, dainty single-flower vase, colored with glazes in various shades inspired by autumn, after an overall application of a lustrous white glaze. During firing, the glazes melted and blended, creating flowing patterns. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, trimming, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, which is equipped with an electric potter's wheel and a small electric kiln. I aim to create a flower vase that combines a charming, rounded form with the simple, calm atmosphere of pottery, and a neat, elegant presence. Due to the porous nature of pottery, a water-stopping agent will be applied. This treatment ensures that water does not seep out for approximately 40 hours. However, there is a possibility that evaporated moisture may slightly emerge from the base, leaving it feeling a bit damp. If this is a concern, placing a fabric coaster underneath can provide peace of mind during use. I create a variety of ceramic pieces in different colors and shapes, constantly exploring the best combinations of glazes and clays. Each piece is unique, similar but never identical.
