What men dislike, the solitary, the orphaned, the unworthy, yet the kings and princes call themselves by these terms. Therefore, some things are diminished by being added to, and increased by being diminished. This series of works navigates the space between the artistic path and functional objects. In terms of the artistic path, it requires no specific purpose, existing solely to be contemplated for its concept and to explore the spirit. As a functional object, some may wish to use it to hold pens, wands, or other items. Is it born for contemplation, to be examined and understood, to glimpse the heavens and desires? Or does it lend itself as a vessel, its nature suited to holding things, adapting to the world? Which truly finds its rightful place is perhaps a matter of individual perspective.
