When we wear crystals, we resonate with their energy, making __regular purification of crystals very important__. It is recommended to establish a habit of purifying crystals regularly, for instance, on the 1st of each month or during the full moon (the 15th day of the lunar calendar). There are many ways to purify crystals, with detailed explanations available in books and online. Perhaps the most commonly mentioned method is soaking in saltwater. However, some crystals and metals are quite delicate and can be damaged by salt or water. Therefore, Joyce personally does not highly recommend soaking in saltwater. If you have clear quartz or amethyst chips, or a geode or cluster, you can place the pendulum inside or on top of them when not in use. Of course, the chips, geodes, or clusters used for purification should also be purified regularly, for example, by sun-purification in sunlight or moon-purification under moonlight. Joyce finds that __smudge purification__ is currently the most effective! You can light a sacred wood stick, dried cedar leaves, dried sage leaves, or incense, and **use the smoke for purification**.
