IMU+® is a novel tangible protection technology with persistent and broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Through this new technology (patent pending), antimicrobial agents are embedded layer by layer within 3D printed items, creating a positively charged layer on their surface. Once bacteria or coronaviruses adhere to the surface of the IMU+® material, their cell walls or envelopes instantly rupture, causing them to be killed and rendered non-infectious. Even if the material surface is abraded, the antimicrobial agents in the inner layers continue to maintain the product's antimicrobial and antiviral functions.
