These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics by Fukuyukigama, a kiln in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware. We reuse broken or chipped pottery that would otherwise be discarded, apply Kintsugi, and remake them into accessories. The concept behind these pieces is to bring a sense of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, and to create new possibilities by transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future. We've adorned elegant, purple pottery shards with hand-painted designs and freshwater pearls. The sides of the pottery shards are finished with Kintsugi, so the gold accents are visible from the side, adding a touch of refinement. These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi with natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this process uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
