**◈ A Word from the Designer**
**Azurite**, a precious gemstone of **antique grade**, often coexists with malachite, turquoise (blue and green), and lapis lazuli. It is exceptionally rare to find large pieces of a pure blue hue. The natural **"iron lines"** (black mineral veins) are distributed with artistic grace and beauty, showcasing a diverse and vibrant mineral palette, earning it the moniker **"Phoenix Stone."**
Azurite, coexisting with various minerals, naturally tends to have many **mineral inclusions**. Pieces that exhibit a **porcelain-like glaze** or **jade-like translucence** are exceedingly rare.
The designer has meticulously selected two other precious gemstones of **antique grade** – **Ruby** and **Pearl** – to complement the azurite.
The **Azurite** is hand-ground into a rare **flat oval bead** shape, boasting a **high degree of glaze**. Its colors range from soothing shades of indigo, azure, and sky blue, revealing delicate veins of coexisting **green malachite** and **translucent jade-like patterns**. Each azurite bead is like a canvas, chronicling the textures formed by Mother Earth over eons.
The **"King of Gems" – Ruby**, along with oceanic **Pearls** and **Mother-of-Pearl inlay**, are artfully interspersed among the azurite beads, enhancing their beauty without overshadowing them.
The overall aesthetic is one of delicate refinement, extraordinary splendor, opulent grandeur, and auspicious elegance. It magnificently embodies the energy and intricate textures of antique-grade gemstones, presenting a **collectible masterpiece**.
This piece is designed as a **necklace-bracelet 2-in-1**, offering three distinct wearing styles: a **long necklace, a 2-strand necklace, or a 5-strand bracelet**.
**This is a truly unique piece, awaiting its destined owner – one of great presence, wisdom, prosperity, and beauty. ^^**
**Azurite**
Azurite, also known as "stone blue," is a copper-bearing mineral with a deep or light blue color and a vitreous luster. Due to its relatively low hardness (3.5-4), it has rarely been used as a gemstone since ancient times. Instead, it was often ground into powder for pigments, used as decorative material in architecture, or for inlay in furniture.
Blue gemstones are inherently rare in nature. Thus, the blue of azurite is not only rare and beautiful but is also named after its color in various languages (Greek: *kuanos*, Latin: *caeruleum*, English: *azurite*).
Azurite is found in the oxidized zones of copper sulfide deposits and often coexists with other copper-bearing minerals (such as cuprite, chalcocite, tenorite, and native copper).
Azurite frequently coexists with minerals like malachite, turquoise (blue and green), and lapis lazuli. It is exceptionally difficult to obtain large areas of pure green, pure blue, or single-colored gemstones. Therefore, specimens with multiple coexisting colors are often referred to as chrysocolla or phoenix stone.
Azurite is not suitable for purification by sunlight, as its color can fade upon exposure. Due to its metallic content, it is also not recommended for purification with sea salt.
**Ruby**
Ruby derives its name from the Latin word "Ruber," meaning red.
In Sanskrit, ruby is revered as the "King of Gems" and the "Leader among Gems." Its fiery red hue led ancient Indians to believe it was an inextinguishable flame.
Rubies possess high hardness, but their crystals are often small and contain numerous fissures. They can coexist with green zoisite and black tourmaline. Consequently, large ruby specimens often display red, green, and black together. Rubies coexisting with green zoisite are commonly known as "red-green rubies."
**Pearl**
The English word "Pearl" originates from the Latin *Pemnla*, meaning "child of the sea." Throughout history, in both Eastern and Western cultures, pearls have symbolized health, purity, and nobility. They are the birthstone for June.
Pearls, amber, and coral are the three great organic gemstones of the world, with pearls being hailed as the "King of Organic Gemstones."
Pearls are formed within mollusks and are primarily composed of calcium carbonate. They have low hardness and are soluble in acids and alkalis. Therefore, pearls should not be exposed to coarse fabrics or hard objects for extended periods. Avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, dyes, or any chemicals. They should also not be oiled for maintenance.
Pearls exhibit a rich and delicate spectrum of colors, ranging from warm tones of yellow, gold, orange, pink, and creamy white to cooler shades of green, blue, indigo, violet, and gray.
Pearls can form naturally or be cultured. Currently, 99% of pearls on the market are cultured.
Natural pearls are primarily found in the Persian Gulf region and India, as well as freshwater pearls from Tennessee, USA.
Cultured pearls from Japan are known for their mature technology and superior quality. Other producing regions include China, Tahiti, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar in the South Seas.
Cultured pearls are categorized into four types:
1. **Full-bead cultured pearls:** These tend to be more spherical. (Perfectly spherical natural pearls are extremely rare.)
2. **Blister pearls:** A bead nucleus is attached to the shell, and the pearl grows around it.
3. **Mabe pearls:** Pronounced "mah-beh," these are half-spherical pearls, also known as "bun pearls" or "half-round pearls."
4. **Seedless cultured pearls:** Freshwater cultured pearls, which lack a bead nucleus and are used for making pearl powder.
**Plique-à-jour (Mother-of-Pearl Inlay)**
Plique-à-jour, also known as *Luodian*, *Luotian*, or *Dianqian*, is a decorative craft involving the inlay of shells (such as abalone, blue-green pearl oyster, turban shell, butterfly shell, mother-of-pearl, hawksbill turtle, conch, etc.) onto the surface of objects. It is named for the shimmering iridescence of the shells.
The art of plique-à-jour originated in the Zhou Dynasty of China and flourished during the Tang Dynasty, being exclusively used by officials and nobles. It subsequently spread to Korea and Japan. Around the 14th century, through maritime trade, it reached the Ryukyu Islands and Southeast Asia. This technique is now practiced throughout East Asia and is most commonly found on woodwork, but can also be applied to lacquerware, bronze, and gold items.

**◈ Care and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess natural luster and unique textures (such as minor black spots, stone patterns, internal fractures, cloudiness, mineral inclusions, and asymmetry). With frequent wear, you will observe subtle color changes in natural gemstones, often becoming more translucent and captivating – this is the best form of maintenance.
Natural organic gemstones (like coral, amber, pearls, and giant clams) have low hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. When soiled, avoid using detergents. Clean with plain water and wipe with a soft cloth. You may also use a soft brush dipped in a small amount of mineral oil (such as baby oil) for gentle conditioning.
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan. Avoid external force damage or exposure to strong acids and alkalis that may cause fading.
3. Fabric components (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable to wear and have a long lifespan. Avoid high temperatures, external force damage, or strong acids and alkalis that may cause fading.
4. For any jewelry, when soiled, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water as appropriate. For suitable materials, a small amount of neutral detergent may be used. After washing, dry promptly to maintain its condition.
5. When jewelry is removed, store it properly in packaging to minimize exposure to air and slow down oxidation and discoloration. Avoid stacking or placing heavy objects on it.
