Atelier Lyreasta: Amethyst Wire-Wrapped Pendant

Amethyst pendant, made with pure copper wire. Overall dimensions (L x W): 30 x 17mm. This is a very rounded, substantial amethyst teardrop with a transparent texture and rich color. Main stones like this cabochon-cut crystal, often considered exemplary, can feel overwhelmed by too much embellishment, which detracts from their inherent quality and color. Conversely, too little, such as a simple bezel setting, can make it appear too plain and lack a unique highlight. For this piece, I've created a wire-wrapped side frame that allows light to enter from the sides without being as delicate as typical netting. Following the flow of the frame and the main stone, I've added curved decorative elements to emphasize its unity. The color of the pure copper wire also complements the main stone's hue perfectly. The moment it was completed, I was certain this was the most fitting form for this main stone at that time. The brand's creations have always begun with contemplation of the core gemstones.
