Pottery Brooch - Pear

Starting from a sketch, clay is molded and shaped through repeated stages of slight drying and refinement. We produce enough to fill the kiln evenly, a process that takes about a month. After a 7-hour bisque firing, pieces are removed, wiped with water, and then individually glazed before a 12-hour final firing. Some pieces receive a gold glaze and are then placed back into the kiln for another 7 hours. Due to the need for slow cooling, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is inspected, and pins are attached to those that meet our standards. Our current success rate is around 70%. Although this process requires significant time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the strength of pottery, the sheen of the glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents. We hope these pieces will be cherished for a long time to come.
