For children, this activity trains finger dexterity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. For adults, this simple, repetitive, slow action can bring a sense of calm from the outside in. The tactile sensation allows you to feel the texture and refinement of the wooden block as you sand it to your desired finish. It's a process of self-actualization and a stress-relieving, therapeutic experience. ✔ Playfully explore colors: Paint your expression onto the block. "It takes as long for me to paint something as it does for me to make a picture. I have learned to paint like a child in fifteen years, but it has taken me a whole lifetime to learn to paint like a child." / Picasso Children paint with intuition and boundless imagination. Do not judge a child's artistic talent through an adult's lens. A child's art is not taught; they are free artists. Listening to a child's expression through their painting is far more meaningful, as their observations and expressions of the world emerge from their brushstrokes.
