Inspired by the imagery of this poem, I chose these colors while contemplating a beauty that has remained constant through the ages. A deep purple, paired with shades of young grass green and white. The luster of the silk threads overlap, adding a gentle radiance to an air of composure. Just as the women of the Heian period enjoyed the color coordination peeking from the collars and sleeves of their layered robes, we bring these colors and poems, cherished since ancient times, into your modern attire. ____________ On cream or white obi belts, the purple stands out with crisp clarity, while on darker obi belts, the wisteria and young grass greens appear with a light touch. Pair it with tsumugi or komon kimonos for a day at the museum or a stroll through old town streets. Simply adding a touch of playful color to your usual kimono creates a style that is uniquely and elegantly your own. ————————— ■ Rozashi embroidery, passed down for over 1,200 years Counting the threads of the ro-fabric, we hand-embroider using domestically produced silk thread, one stitch at a time. In creating "Miyabi," our focus was on making purple the lead while allowing the young grass green to serve as an accent.
