A set featuring a floral-edged pitcher and a small dish, both meticulously hand-carved with orchids blooming in the pottery studio's garden. The orchids appear to float on a transparent, deep green glaze, complemented by fine crackling that adds to the piece's exquisite beauty. This versatile piece can be used as a soy sauce dispenser, a milk pitcher, for serving sake, or even as a water vessel for calligraphy. Crafted using Shigaraki clay, this piece was shaped on a potter's wheel before being coated in white slip. Once the slip had settled, the design was carefully drawn and meticulously carved. It underwent slow drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, a process that took considerable time to complete. The rim of the pitcher is designed in a floral shape. The interior is also glazed, with a rounded opening. Its rounded form fits comfortably in the hand, making it easy to pour from with excellent drip-free performance. The lid is crafted with precision, ensuring a snug fit. Both the pitcher and the small dish can also be used individually. This pitcher is also a wonderful option for a gift. You can enjoy watching the crackling develop over time with use.
