I personally leave a 3mm (0.3cm) gap (the thickness of everyone's ears is different, so please try your own preferred distance). Then, clip them on. If they don't fall off when you shake your head, they're okay (no need to shake your head vigorously~). If you feel pain or they feel loose, take off the ear clips, adjust the tightness, and put them back on.
