Collection description Chen Shu (AD 1660 – 1736), also known as Nanlou, also known as Shangyuan Disciple and Fu’an, and later as Nanlou Laoren. A native of Jiaxing, Zhejiang. He is good at flowers, birds, grass and insects, and also good at landscapes and figures. This scroll was made when he was seventy-six years old. This picture is a sketch of a flower offering during the Spring Festival in Yimao, Yongzheng (AD 1735). The picture shows the warmth of spring, the blooming of flowers, and the joy of welcoming the new year. In the bonsai painting, several types of flower plants are moved into porcelain pots and planted staggered according to the height ratio and flower color characteristics. It is a perfect combination of flower arrangement and bonsai art. The stone represents longevity, with narcissus and tianzhu added to it, which means "immortals support longevity"; next to it are lilies, persimmons, Ganoderma lucidum, and apples, which also have meanings such as "everything goes well" and "peace goes well".
