Attracts wealth. ● Cloisonné / Fired Enamel Originating from the Near East in the 19th century BC, it later developed in China, introduced during the Yuan Dynasty, and reached its peak during the Jingtai period of the Ming Dynasty, hence its name "Jingtai Lan" (Cloisonné). Cloisonné boasts lustrous and vibrant colors, with neat and uniform wirework and brilliant gold plating. The cloisonné technique is intricate, resulting in exquisite craftsmanship. Fired enamel involves filling the entire base with colored glaze, then firing it in a high-temperature furnace at around 800 degrees Celsius. The glaze melts from a granular solid into a liquid and, upon cooling, becomes a brilliant enamel fixed to the base. At this stage, the enamel is lower than the wirework, requiring another layer of glaze filling and firing. This process is typically repeated four to five times until the design is filled level with the wirework. It is a handmade process, making the pieces precious and rare. ✦ Purchase Notice✦ 1.
