Ancestors are not merely figures preserved in memory or history. Unresolved emotions, decisions, and wounds carried by ancestors may emerge in a descendant's life as recurring patterns, inexplicable stagnation, or feelings of anxiety and blockage without apparent cause. In Korea, for instance, when misfortune strikes repeatedly—persistent accidents, setbacks, or unexplained difficulties—these experiences are not always dismissed as coincidence. Some may consider the possibility of spiritual imbalance or a troubled relationship with ancestral spirits, and seek guidance from a shaman. It adopts a perspective that considers both one's present circumstances and the condition of one's ancestral roots. This worldview is not rooted in fear or superstition.
