Scarlet and white mug

A slightly coarse red ceramic clay that exudes the simplicity and warmth characteristic of ceramic clay. A white glaze with a glossy sheen and a matte glaze with a beautiful gradation from scarlet to white. This is a large mug made by combining these designs. Instead of firing in the electric kiln that I normally use at home, I had the pieces fired in a kerosene kiln at the pottery maker that I am currently using. The pottery is fired using a method called reduction firing, which creates an oxygen shortage inside the kiln during firing, allowing you to enjoy a refined flavor that cannot be produced in an electric furnace. The white glaze used is an original glaze made by the potter. The white cup allows you to enjoy the color of clear drinks such as sencha and black tea. The wide base makes it very stable, so you can place it safely on your desk while you work. We would be very happy if you would use this product when you want to take a break with a cup of coffee or cafe au lait or to relax. All steps of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing and firing, are done by hand. Although we cannot mass-produce them, each one has its own unique expression, and you can enjoy the flavor that comes from being made by hand. The item you receive will be the same as the product image. To avoid damaging your table as much as possible, the installation surface will be sanded down before delivery. Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations. It is impossible to create two identical pieces, so although they may look similar, each piece is unique. I would be very happy if you could find your favorite.
