Studio Stamp Pad Review: The studio tested three brands and five colors of ink pads: VersaMagic Dew Drop Ink Pad (gingerbread), VersaFine Square Ink Pad (smokey gray, olympia green, spanish moss), and a black ink pad from Li-beng-dai. Papers used were white paper and tracing paper; actual test results can be seen in the product images. Stamps on White Paper: The VersaMagic Dew Drop Ink Pad produced detailed and sharp lines. The VersaFine Square Ink Pad and the Li-beng-dai black ink pad gave a vintage station stamp feel. All three were resistant to smudging after drying. Stamps on Tracing Paper: The Li-beng-dai black ink pad yielded the most delicate lines, followed by the VersaMagic Dew Drop Ink Pad. Both of these ink pads were resistant to smudging after drying. The VersaFine Square Ink Pad tended to smudge on tracing paper, so using different types of paper is recommended. A small stamping tip is to gently tap the ink pad onto the stamp surface, ensuring even ink coverage without overflow. Pay attention to the amount of ink; smoother papers can achieve finer lines but may not hold a thick layer of ink, potentially causing smudging after drying. It's advisable to test your available ink pads and papers first to understand their characteristics, which will then allow you to easily create delicate lines.
