It utilizes Pinatex, a revolutionary vegan leather derived from pineapple leaves, developed by Dr. Carmen Hijosa of the Royal College of Art in the UK. The process involves extracting fibers from pineapple leaves, followed by treatments like waxing and embossing, resulting in an appearance that closely resembles genuine leather. This innovative material champions a cruelty-free approach and reduced carbon emissions, offering a sustainable alternative to animal leather. It not only revitalizes unused pineapple leaves from agriculture but also avoids the generation of toxic substances during production.
