"Fish scale brocade" uses "fish" (yú), which sounds like "abundance" (yù), signifying "richness." It also sounds like "surplus" (yú), meaning "more than enough." Fish themselves symbolize a prosperous and fulfilling life. Their scales are also considered auspicious and beautiful adornments. Thus, ancient artisans applied fish scale patterns to silk and satin, calling it "fish scale brocade." Goldfish, with their vibrant colors and graceful forms, are beloved by many. Their name, "jīn yú," sounds like "gold and jade" (jīn yù), representing wishes for prosperity. Goldfish motifs are often incorporated into folk New Year paintings or embroidery for good fortune. For example, goldfish and aquatic plants in a fishbowl, where the fishbowl symbolizes a "pond" (táng) or "hall" (táng), is called "jīn yù mǎn táng" (gold and jade filling the hall). Notebook dimensions: 13.5 x 19.5 cm, 1.2 cm thickness Interior pages are shipped randomly and cannot be specified. Engraving will be located at the bottom center of the notebook's front cover, as shown in the first product image. We can engrave in Traditional Chinese, English, or Japanese. For Chinese characters, a maximum of 10 characters is allowed. Two English letters are equivalent to one Chinese character. When placing your order, please specify the text to be engraved and your preferred font in the "Buyer's Notes" section. You can find font options in the last product image.
