The best way to care for sterling silver jewelry is to wear it daily. The body's natural oils can maintain the silver's warm, lustrous sheen. However, due to the wearer's individual body chemistry (acid-alkaline balance), some people's silver will become brighter with wear, while others may experience oxidation, causing it to turn yellow or black. This does not affect the intrinsic nature of sterling silver. If oxidation occurs, simply wipe it with the included silver polishing cloth, or gently brush it with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a small amount of toothpaste, then rinse with cold water and dry thoroughly.
