"Neriage" is a technique in which colorful clay that has been colored with pigments is kneaded together and patterns are created using the centrifugal force and the expansion and contraction of the clay when pulled on a potter's wheel. The patterns that are produced vary depending on how the clay is kneaded and the time and effort spent on turning the wheel, allowing you to enjoy the unexpected. Pigments come in a variety of colors, but when making these I chose vibrant colors such as orange and yellow. I wanted to create tableware in vitamin colors that would stand out in the summer. If you bake it as is with a clear glaze, the colors will be very vivid and pop, but I wanted to make something a little more subdued, so I applied a cream-colored glaze, and it baked to a spicy color that reminded me of turmeric. Compared to other tableware that uses the same color pigment, this color is more suitable for cooking. Colourful vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, zucchini and peppers stand out beautifully. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand. Because the pattern varies from time to time, each piece is unique and no two pieces can be made exactly the same. The item you receive will be the same as the product image. The surface that will come into contact with the table will be sanded before delivery. Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations.
