The storm flap from the front placket becomes the hatband of the beret, where the thick embroidered lettering is seen again. The epaulet-like cuff embellishment transforms into the decorative top of the newsboy cap. The epaulets evoke soldiers— leaving their hometowns for distant travels, and ultimately embarking on the journey home. The beret is soft and quiet, like a distant homeland. The newsboy cap is sharp and dynamic, like footsteps on the way home. One old garment, continues its journey in different directions.
