This is a bunko-sized book cover, handcrafted from the flesh side of bridle leather originating from the UK. ■ Material We use the flesh side of bridle leather from Thomas Ware & Sons, a renowned tannery established in Bristol, UK, in 1840, boasting over 170 years of history. Bridle leather was originally developed for equestrian equipment due to its exceptional strength and durability. It is treated with waxes such as beeswax, tallow, and vegetable oils to enhance its robustness and longevity. The white powder on the leather's surface is called "bloom." This is a sign of the wax that has penetrated the leather and solidified on the surface, a distinctive characteristic of bridle leather. The bloom will naturally diminish with use. If you prefer, you can gently brush it off or wipe it away with a dry cloth. The texture of the leather is firm yet supple, a result of using strong bridle leather. We believe you will enjoy the process as it gradually conforms to your touch. For the stitching, we use 100% natural linen waxed thread from the Taiwanese brand "Rikka." Rikka threads are of high quality, meeting the non-toxic and non-fading requirements of physical and chemical tests conducted by SGS, one of the world's largest testing organizations. ■ Color Green ■ Size When unfolded: Height 167mm x Width 250mm This cover accommodates bunko-sized books with a thickness of approximately 25mm. Please note that it is not suitable for larger-format bunko books, such as those published by Hayakawa Bunko. ■ Notes As leather is a natural material, it may exhibit inherent characteristics such as scratches and wrinkles.
