【Kyoto Furoshiki: Art Brut - Goldfish】
Created by artist Norimasa Hattori. Born in 1971 and based in Aichi Prefecture, his work is known for its unique perspective and humorous distortions.
He has a fondness for animals, fish, and insects, and his vibrant creations, drawn with fine-tip pens, are cherished by many.
- Design Concept: This artwork expresses the artist's affection for fish. He depicts countless fish by drawing circles with a fine-tip pen, a style that is distinctly his own.
- Unique Detail: This furoshiki utilizes the most colors in the series, with 15 shades layered together.
When translating the original artwork to the furoshiki, the designer thoughtfully added a gray border. This creates the imagery of peering at a school of fish through an aquarium window, a touch inspired by the artist's love for zoos and aquariums.
This border also serves as a distinctive accent when wrapping items.
【About Art Brut: Pure and Free Creation】
"Art Brut" is French for "raw art," referring to creations that express oneself in a free and unrestrained manner, unbound by established artistic concepts.
The Artist's Empowerment: A portion of the proceeds from this series will be contributed back to the supporting organizations and the artists themselves, fostering their continued creative activities.
Exquisite Packaging: The product is presented in a paper envelope, featuring the Art Brut philosophy, an artist profile, and sample wrapping photos on the back, making it an ideal gift.
【Practicality and Aesthetics: The 50cm Craftsmanship from Japan】
Perfect for everyday use as a book cover or tissue box cover. Furthermore, the production process meticulously recreates the hand-drawn feel of the original artwork, making it also suitable as a decorative piece, allowing its vibrant colors to brighten your space.
- High-Quality Fabric: Crafted from a lustrous satin fabric. Cotton sateen is often used for fashion items like scarves and handkerchiefs, offering a soft texture and smooth feel.
【The Origin and Charm of Furoshiki】
"Furoshiki" (風呂敷) is a traditional wrapping cloth originating from Japan's Muromachi period, which has evolved into an eco-friendly, stylish, and ingenious cultural symbol. It can replace traditional paper bags and, through various tying methods, transform into unique tote bags, gift wrapping, or home decor, showcasing your creativity and taste.
