In the past, parents and grandparents would craft these using discarded kimono fabric.
Throughout the lengthy creation process, the makers imbue their heartfelt wishes for the recipient's happiness.
The spherical shape symbolizes "all things coming to fruition,"
and because they are sewn with long threads, they also represent "connecting relationships" or "finding good fortune in connections"!
