Material: Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather. Cowhide Leather Introduction: Vegetable-tanned cowhide is a leather full of character. Vegetable tanning is the earliest tanning method, using tanning agents extracted from plants, such as tannic acid. This method involves repeatedly soaking the hide in tanning solutions of varying concentrations, a process that takes one to two months. Vegetable-tanned leather is free from harmful chemicals like heavy metals, making it safe for direct skin contact. It also preserves the natural texture of the leather. Over time, with exposure to sunlight and moisture, the leather develops a rich patina, deepens in color, and gains unique signs of wear, a process often referred to as 'leather patina development.' Leather de Home watch straps are traditionally made with double-needle hand-stitching. Both the front and back utilize Italian vegetable-tanned leather, offering superior durability compared to machine stitching. Edges are meticulously sanded from coarse to fine grit and then polished to a smooth, natural finish. **The strap shown in the photo is 24mm wide (for custom widths, please inquire via inbox).** Leather Thickness: Approximately 3-3.5mm thick after stitching.
