The cloth turning black is normal. Do not wash it, as this will reduce its effectiveness. - Lightly scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of dish soap or toothpaste, then dry thoroughly. - Dip a clean cloth in a small amount of brass polish and wipe. This will restore the brass's shine.
