(From "The Pillow Book") — These earrings feature lampwork beads, known as "Hotaru Dama" (firefly beads), meticulously crafted by glass artisans. Each Hotaru Dama bead is handmade, with artisans layering silver foil and colored glass onto black glass. This process is said to create a uniquely mystical atmosphere, where colors seem to glow against the dark backdrop. In this particular pair, shimmering silver, reminiscent of clouds, and a bright aquamarine twinkle against the black base. We've named this color "Saikau" (催花雨), meaning "flower-催促 rain," evoking the refreshing, translucent hues that herald spring's blossoming. What makes these earrings especially enchanting is that the Hotaru Dama beads are a glow-in-the-dark type. When exposed to light and then viewed in darkness, they emit a gentle green luminescence. ^^ Instead of illuminating uniformly, the beads twinkle with scattered points of light, and the varying intensity of their glow, subtly different in each bead, adds to their romantic, firefly-like charm. The earring findings are elegantly designed with a delicate floral motif. Each flower center is adorned with a single cubic zirconia, adding a touch of sparkle.
