Artistic Style and Philosophy
Chen Xuan-Heng's work emphasizes the natural expression of handcraftsmanship and brushstrokes, employing diverse textural decorations. This results in rich variations in the ash glaze layers during the wood-firing process, showcasing a blend of natural beauty and humanistic artistry. His "Sea Rhyme Series" teabowls, inspired by ocean waves, capture the layering and dynamism of the sea.
Beyond his ceramic creations, Chen Xuan-Heng is also passionate about self-learning and playing the traditional Okinawan instrument, the "Sanshin." He frequently shares videos of himself playing and singing on social media, demonstrating his love for Okinawan music.

- Chen Xuan-Heng primarily uses the imagery of the Qilin as the main decorative theme in his ceramic creations. The Qilin has been the ultimate symbol of auspiciousness since ancient times. This ceramic cup features a unique triangular composition, distinguishing it from conventional cylindrical cups. It also serves as an ideal coffee cup with a handle designed for pour-over filters. The distinctive glaze variations resemble the effervescence of beer or the foam of milk, adding a touch of visual delight.
