It might surprise you how many brands produced exclusive, licensed products specifically for the Japanese market.
If you've traveled to Japan, you'll know that department stores are filled with unique souvenirs, not just the food items in the basement levels!
On the upper floors, you'll find specially licensed items produced by certain brands that aren't even available through their main sales channels.
For example, in earlier years, Celine licensed several Japanese textile companies to produce various textile goods, including household items – incredibly practical.
These were sold at very accessible prices, making them perfect for both gifting and personal use, a stark contrast to the pricing in brand boutiques.
However, Celine's licensing agreements with these Japanese companies have long since ended, so you won't find these items even if you visit Japan now.
These are Japan-exclusive items that have been completely discontinued for many years, much like pre-owned bags. Each one is a rare find!
A little side note: the emergence of these licensed products was driven by luxury brands looking towards Asia. Japan's economy was booming, and it was arguably the most affluent market in Asia at the time.
As many brands entered Japan, they made arrangements that accommodated local culture.
The Japanese gift-giving culture is extensive; as seen in Japanese dramas, people frequently exchange gifts.
Japan already had numerous factories producing products suited for various gifting occasions, with mature techniques and unique offerings.
This led many brands to enter into licensing agreements for Japanese companies to produce their goods. These gift sets were typically sold only in department stores and were highly popular in Japan due to their appealing presentation. Having a "brand" name made them suitable for gifting to relatives, friends, or superiors.

⚐⚑˒˒CELINE large square handkerchief. Each piece is unique and only one is available per design. Once sold, it's usually impossible to find the same one again!
Most still have their original stickers attached (if present, they are shown in the photos). A few may be missing stickers, but all are brand new and unused, perfect for gifting or personal use. Sizes range from 45-55CM.
Purchasing this as an add-on to a pre-owned bag order offers a significant discount. The add-on price is exceptionally favorable. Please contact me before ordering for a price adjustment.
For handkerchiefs, most customers in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan likely used them more frequently in childhood, transitioning to tissues as they grew older.
However, the Japanese handkerchief culture (yes, it has evolved into a culture) is deeply ingrained from childhood and remains unchanged!
In Japan, whether it's children, adults, or the elderly, a handkerchief is a common item to carry, due to various factors, likely including environmental consciousness, decorum, and politeness.
You can find more details online; I won't elaborate too much. In essence, if you live in Japan and don't carry a handkerchief, you're likely not Japanese.
Japanese handkerchiefs showcase extremely high manufacturing standards. Don't underestimate these small pieces of cloth; upon closer inspection, you'll find exquisite details that will amaze you!
Examples include two-tone double-sided embroidery, hidden embroidery, the use of subtly different colored threads to create a lustrous effect, gold and silver foil stamping, colored foil stamping, and more.
There's also a wide variety of materials: some are soft enough for a baby, while others are made of breathable linen, perfect for quick drying in summer.
The patterns are not only intricate, but the details are such that they won't fade even after multiple washes. Even the foil stamping remains intact!
Many are so beautiful they resemble works of art and can even be framed for decoration. The most crucial point is that many of these techniques are unique to Japan.
Even the more expensive silk scarves produced in Europe by these brands often lack the intricate details found in a single small Japanese handkerchief.
But you might ask, "What can I do with a handkerchief if I don't use it for hygiene?" The uses for handkerchiefs extend beyond wiping your mouth or hands. They can be used as decorative accessories! You can hang them on bags or tie them around them. This is an excellent habit for luxury and pre-owned bags, especially vintage ones. Their greatest value isn't their price but their increasing rarity in the world. Therefore, using them requires care. Hanging one on a bag adds a small decorative touch, and tying one around a strap can protect the most frequently used and easily worn areas, keeping them clean and preventing accidents.
I personally experienced this once at a workshop when the person next to me accidentally spilled dye on my bag strap. Fortunately, I had habitually tied a scarf around the strap! My bag was saved, though the scarf had an ink stain that wouldn't wash out. I'd much rather have a stained handkerchief than a stained bag strap!
A handkerchief can also be used to adjust the length of an overly long strap (I can share details on how to tie it). I also frequently use them for home decor.
I've long been accustomed to using large scarves or handkerchiefs to cover decorative items or items that are not in use at home. This is primarily for dust protection, as my home gets very dusty. Once dust accumulates on the covering cloth, I simply remove it and wash it, which is convenient.
Covering items with plain fabric or handkerchiefs can look a bit odd (like an unoccupied house with cloths draped over furniture). That's why I've always used scarves and handkerchiefs around the house.
The uses for handkerchiefs and scarves are truly endless and personal. Having one or two extra small accessories isn't a problem. When folded into a small square, they don't take up much space in your bag and can be used in any unexpected situation, like wiping your bag or yourself on a rainy day.
❍ The photos are taken by the owner under natural sunlight. Lighting may vary depending on the time of day, and color variations are possible.
Each handkerchief has individual details and unfolded views, but they cannot be displayed here. Please message me to request them. Due to the unique nature of pre-owned orders, all sales are final. Please examine the photos carefully before purchasing.

The main reason I love pre-owned bags is that the materials from earlier eras are vastly superior to those in modern new items.
In the past, most pre-owned items were handmade, imbued with the warmth of craftsmanship rather than mass production.
Artisans' skills were far more delicate than machines, much like how everyone appreciates products handcrafted by skilled artisans!
However, today, the vast majority of processes are mechanized with minimal human assembly, losing the exquisite detail of the past.
A simple and direct way to see this is by comparing the detailed patterns of recent "reissue" classic prints with the original vintage prints. The level of detail in the patterns alone is entirely different. If you love classic prints, you must seek out pre-owned items! Truly!
In terms of style, older pieces tend to be simpler, timeless, and enduring. Many new designs today are actually remakes of older styles.
Yet, new items are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or modifications.
The final product often ends up more complex (or peculiar...) than the older versions. As we mature, we realize that simplicity endures! As we age, our clothing choices often return to basics because the most fundamental pieces are the most versatile.
The quality of raw materials in older pieces is also superior to newer ones. If you understand leather, you'll notice that the materials in new items are often of a lower grade than vintage ones.
This is primarily because the cost and availability of high-quality raw materials are much higher now, and global resources are diminishing.
Furthermore, brands didn't have the ubiquitous presence they do today. Their clientele typically had a certain income level and specific expectations for the finished product. There wasn't the "fast fashion" culture of today; a bag was expected to be used for many years.
The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the hardware. Many new bags' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two, but vintage pieces typically do not. This is due to higher-grade materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Moreover, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with genuine 24K gold!
It's worth noting that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold merchants!
Therefore, even vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, if well-preserved, can still gleam today. Among the new items available now, based on my knowledge, none of the hardware contains 24K gold, making them prone to oxidation.
Many say buying a vintage bag is a form of investment, as they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because well-preserved pre-owned bags are becoming increasingly scarce. Remember, each one is a discontinued item. The number that exists in the world is finite, so they will only become fewer, more expensive, and harder to find.
Additionally, many brands periodically increase their prices, which in turn drives up the market value of pre-owned items.
If a brand releases a "reissue," the reference or similar vintage models will see a sharp price increase!
Furthermore, with the recent trend of K-pop and J-pop celebrities favoring vintage items, the price of a particular model can skyrocket once an artist is seen with it. In such periods, many people frantically search for that specific model or similar alternatives, causing prices to multiply.
Therefore, vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertisement slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...).
This is based on my personal experience; I regret not acquiring certain series earlier. I can no longer find them, or if I do, they come with an exorbitant price tag.
However, even when faced with such prices, one feels compelled to purchase because waiting will only lead to higher prices (unless the condition is poor).
I am often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I will include a small note with detailed instructions inside the bag, so don't worry.
My personal habit is to give my bags a thorough cleaning and maintenance when I organize my closet at the change of seasons (which makes each seasonal change a major undertaking...|||).
Pre-owned bags are not particularly troublesome. Getting started simply requires adopting a habit of regular care and cherishing your bag. Once you form the habit, it's not difficult.
The materials of pre-owned bags are inherently excellent. As long as they are not used roughly and are stored properly, they can easily last another ten years and be passed down to your daughter!
Every pre-owned bag I collect is one I genuinely love, so I hope you will love it too and preserve it for years to come ☪︎ *.。
☾︎.*·̩͙ If you are interested in purchasing, please feel free to message me with any questions. I seek out customers who appreciate and understand pre-owned items ⸜❤︎⸝.
