This item is fired using a method called reduction firing, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the kiln during firing, allowing you to enjoy a refined flavor that cannot be achieved in an electric furnace. The straw ash glaze used is an original glaze made by the potter, who himself burns rice straw and mixes it using the ash. It has a color and texture that you won't find anywhere else. When used as a bowl of rice, the size may be just right for those with a small appetite, but may be a little small for those who eat a lot. It can also be used for small noodles, rice bowls, and soups with lots of ingredients. The color and texture that evokes the taste of earthiness harmonizes with a variety of ingredients and goes well with any color of food. Please enjoy it with a variety of dishes. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand.
