This Japanese porcelain mug is made by HIGASHIGAMA, a pottery manufacturer in Tobe-cho, Ehime Prefecture. It features a large handle that can be firmly gripped with four fingers, making it easy to hold and stable. It is an easy-to-use size with a height of 9.5 cm, a mouth diameter of 8.5 cm, and a capacity of 300 ml, making it suitable for tea, coffee, and soup. The pot is made of durable porcelain, making it safe for everyday use, and dishwasher safe for easy care. The design was created by Alyne Ohigashi, a ceramic artist from the Philippines. Higashigama's "Washi Dyeing" Technique At Togama, the pottery is painted using the traditional Tobe ware technique of "washi-zome" (dyeing with washi paper). This technique involves cutting out patterns into washi paper, then allowing the dye to seep into the paper to create a unique texture. The soft look and warm design that can only be achieved by hand are appealing, and the pottery becomes more and more loved each time it is used.
