Bracelet of Purple Roman Glass, Antique Bohemian Beads, Gooseberries, Duck Blue Beads, Granule Brass, and Abundant Garnets

This bracelet is crafted by connecting purple Roman glass, antique Bohemian beads, gooseberry beads, duck blue beads, granule brass beads, and abundant garnets. The slender beads are Roman glass, dating back to the Roman Empire (27 BCE - 395 CE). The tubular pieces were originally part of bangles, hence their slight curvature. As they are antique, there are minor chips, but they do not affect normal use. The rectangular Roman glass near the clasp has developed a beautiful iridescence. Iridescence occurs when glass is buried underground for extended periods, causing a chemical reaction between the glass and soil components, resulting in this sparkling luster. This phenomenon is not found in all buried glass; it appears only when specific conditions align. The clear, oval beads are early 20th-century Bohemian beads. While they have age-related marks, these only enhance their wonderful character! (Bohemian bead size: 0.8cm width, 0.7cm height) The striped beads are known as gooseberry beads and are antique Venetian beads from the 19th-20th century. They are named after their resemblance to the fruit of the currant bush. As they are deadstock, they have few scratches and are in excellent condition. They possess a subtle pink hue. Their glossy finish is utterly charming! The granular beads are brass beads crafted by the Benin people of Africa, featuring incredibly intricate detailing. Their slight patina adds a cool aesthetic! The duck blue beads are antique beads known as Indopacific beads. The origins of Indopacific beads are said to date back to the 2nd century BCE. These particular beads are excavated artifacts from Indonesia, dating as far back as the 10th century—over 1000 years old! Like the other antique components, they have some marks due to their age. Two sizes of garnets are incorporated, appearing like abundant fruit. The clasp is an S-hook, allowing for versatile wear.
