Crafted from fine-grained white clay that allows the glaze to shine, this three-leaf clover-shaped small bowl is brought to life with a lustrous and charming light blue glaze. Its gentle, curving form adds a touch of elegance to your dining table. With its moderate depth, this small bowl can comfortably hold dishes with a bit of sauce. It's ideal for small side dishes such as blanched greens, simmered dishes, Japanese preparations, or tofu. It also serves beautifully for desserts like warabi mochi or cut fruit. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a distinct charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. To minimize any potential scratching to your table, the base of the bowl has been sanded smooth. Please note that there is a small brown speck on the inside of the bowl. This is due to iron content within the clay and does not affect its usability. To address this, all our tableware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (mejime). This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
