"Little Person....?" "Oh dear! It sounds like an insult, why would it be named that?"
For those new to succulents, this name might cause confusion. Here, "little person" refers to the Japanese word for "child," signifying a child's seat.
The "Little Person's Seat," scientifically known as Haworthia chloracantha var. denticulifera ‘Liliptana’, belongs to the Asphodelaceae family, specifically the Haworthia genus. It's arguably the smallest among the hard-leaved varieties and readily forms clusters. When exposed to stronger sunlight, its leaves turn a yellowish-orange, making it quite endearing! The designer has thoughtfully paired it with a round, plain gray cement pot, offering a simple and rustic aesthetic to adorn your home!
Sunlight
As a member of the Asphodelaceae (formerly Liliaceae) family, the "Little Person's Seat" inherits its shade-tolerant characteristics. It thrives in partial sunlight (about 3 hours of direct sun per day is sufficient) without losing its form, making it suitable for those with less light on their balconies. Its clustered growth resembles little hills, which is quite lovely. In environments with good temperature fluctuations and ample sunlight, it displays pleasing coloration, with leaves turning a charming yellowish-orange under stronger light.
Watering
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry. Water once a week during spring, summer, and autumn. In winter, water every two weeks. However, adjust watering frequency based on your specific growing conditions.
Soil Mix
Any well-draining and breathable soil mix will suffice.
Propagation
Most Asphodelaceae succulents exhibit clumping growth, varying in intensity. The "Little Person's Seat" readily produces offsets. If grown individually, it can develop side shoots even before reaching full maturity. The branching of these offsets is also unrestricted, allowing them to grow new branches in turn, creating the typical clustered form. Therefore, propagation is primarily achieved through division.
Repotting
It's prone to becoming overgrown. Asphodelaceae succulents generally require repotting every two years for maintenance. Of course, if it becomes excessively crowded, you can also divide it.
📝 Key Points: Shade-tolerant, partial sun, water thoroughly when dry, water once a week.

This planter comes pre-planted. We take great care in packaging and shipping, and will apply a "fragile" sticker. If white pebbles, soil, or the plant become dislodged during transit due to unavoidable bumps during shipping, this is considered normal. Please gently replant your succulent upon arrival.
