Wood burning introduction
"Wood-burning" is the traditional kiln-burning method, which uses firewood to burn to a high temperature of over 1200 degrees.
There are "fire marks" left naturally on the body by the firewood, as well as the ashes that fall naturally after the firewood burns, which make the color of the work warm and varied, a level that electric kilns and gas kilns cannot achieve.
Compared with ordinary electric kilns and gas kilns, the process of wood firing from arranging (stacking) kilns, igniting and burning to sealing the kiln and then cooling down takes about 8 to 10 days.
In addition, the wood-fired kiln has a very high pressure, and is affected by factors such as the humidity of the climate, the dryness of the wood, the speed of human firewood feeding, the kiln position...all of which may lead to the success or failure of the work, and the damage rate is also relatively high.
Experienced wood-fired artists will consider the speed of the airflow throughout the kiln when arranging the kiln, and will plan how to arrange the different sizes of works, estimate how the fire path will rise, how to add firewood and carbon, and the degree of combustion. You have to focus on every step to create a perfect wood-fired work.

1. All works are handmade, the texture and color are different, and the computer display may be different.
2. The bumps on the surface, trace bubbles, glaze color, and cracks are normal phenomena of handmade works and are not defects.
3. Each piece of work is stamped with the Ming Ya Kiln stamp or is hand-signed by the author (Teacher Cai Rongzong or Teacher Zhong Xuanhui).
4. Please clean with sponge, soft detergent and water before first use. It must not be exposed to direct fire or heating, and the temperature difference between hot and cold should not be too large. Suitable for microwave, oven and electric cooker.
