"Hai Bo Lang" (Sea Waves) attempts to view and express oceanic impressions and culture from a modern perspective, interpreting marine culture through everyday items. Surrounded by the sea, Taiwan has accumulated a deep and extensive ocean culture over the changing years, beginning with the Austronesian roots, the Formosa of the Westerners during the Age of Discovery, the past of crossing the sea from the mainland, the traces left by different peoples arriving and departing through time, to the homeland where we live today. The history of "great times" forms the backdrop of our growth, while "small times" belong to the memories of our youth. These memories are set in fishing villages along the coast, the seaside where we ran and shouted with friends, the coastal highway stretching forward against a deep blue background, the western beaches, the northern rocky shores, the moments the waves crashed against the reefs, the steadfast fishermen guiding boats into the harbor, the lively fish markets filled with enthusiastic shouts, the indulgent seafood snacks...
