Antique USA Coro Duette Brooch Signed Patented Rhodium Plated Art Deco 1930s

Authentic CORO Duette Signed Patent Rhodium Plated 1930 Art Deco Brooch Pin Double This antique Coro Duette brooch pin is a stunning piece of Art Deco jewelry created in 1930s.  The base is the rhodium plated metal and shows wonderful condition for it's age, which is between 80 and 90 years. There maybe some tiny scratches but Duette mechanism is working great and there is no rust on the hinges.  The brooch is adorned with sparkling white/colorless rhinestones. Some of crystals look slightly dimmed but overall the brooch is still bright and shiny. The round and baguette-shaped rhinestones create an intricate Art Deco pattern. They set in a "channel-set" setting. This is a stone placement technique used in Fine Jewelry design, when gemstones are nestled into a "channel" or groove crafted within the piece. Chief Designer Adolf Katz used this fine techique to create his marvelous Costume Jewelry masterpieces for Coro Company in 30's.  This brooch pin is signed as other original Duettes by Coro:  detachable pin back mechanism is signed «Coro Duette Pat No 1798867» — US Patent «for brooch and the like» issued in 1931 to the inventor Gaston Candas  flat-backed hinged clips are signed «Pat No 1852188» - - US Patent «for brooch or clasp» issued in 1932 to the inventor Elisha Phinney.  Size: 2-1/2" / 6 cm wide  x 3/4" / 2 cm when fully joined The Duettes are very well-documented and you can find various examples of these 1930's best-selling brooches in various collector's books.  I found similar pin shown in Warman's catalogue.
