【Wood Firing】An ancient method of pottery production. During the firing process, elements like potassium, sodium, and calcium from the wood ash combine with the mineral elements in the clay at high temperatures, creating natural ash deposits on the ceramic surface. Wood firing reaches temperatures above 1300°C, where the fusion of clay and fire results in the cup's naturally flowing and wondrous colors. The ash deposits naturally form a thin layer of glaze on the cup's body, presenting a transition of fire marks from orange-brown to grayish-olive. The mark at the base of the cup is slightly carbonized at high temperatures, retaining the unique rustic texture of wood firing. The piece is unglazed, tempered by the prolonged journey through fire, showcasing natural ash deposits, fire marks, flying ash glaze, and scorched earth textures.
