The Final Villain - The Shepherd Alarein's first series concludes at last. This Shepherd piece, its concept was envisioned from the very beginning, yet the complete design always eluded my mind. It was the most challenging piece to conceptualize, but also the most fitting conclusion to this series. The Shepherd, in essence, represents the common folk, the ordinary people. Unlike the characters before, she possesses no strong defining traits, but rather one who seeks peace and simply wishes to live a quiet life. Therefore, the question became, how to powerfully express "ordinariness"? This was the point that consumed me for so long. Through continuous contemplation, and integrating my own life experiences, I arrived at a conclusion: "Powerlessness is, in itself, a form of sin." Because of the inability to resist, the inability to change, one can only hold onto the chance for a peaceful end with their very life! In terms of design, because I wrestled with it for so long, my thoughts kept accumulating, becoming richer and more intricate. First, the sheep's head, a natural symbol of a shepherd. Next, the ribs and the coffin that encircles them, perfectly embody the phrase: "To fiercely guard a chance for a peaceful death with one's life and flesh!" It's intense, perhaps even a little too dark, but I believe it's incredibly direct! The coffin can be opened to a limited extent. When not worn, it can be displayed on a table as a stand for the ornament. The primary intention behind creating this piece was, in fact, to satirize those in life who are unable to break through their own limitations! Embracing simplicity, I also believe, serves as the most fitting conclusion to narrating the chaotic grand era of the Wild West. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Design Philosophy I Inspiration The Shepherd, as the name suggests, is a rancher on the periphery of the chaotic Western world, living a self-sufficient life, entirely independent within the West. She wishes no part in the conflicts of warlords, tribes, or the powerful elite; she simply wants to be born here, and for everything to quietly end here. Of course, she has been forced to migrate due to the pull and push of various forces, but since she has her own flock, she can simply start anew on another pasture. She has a good friend who visits often, always accompanied by a snake. This friend seems resourceful, bringing her a large sum of money each time. She doesn't mind; life always finds a way. But still, "Is this truly right?"
