Dry lacquer is applied to the tip, which is particularly prone to damage. This 2mm of dry lacquer prevents the lacquer from peeling off at the tips of the chopsticks, making a huge difference in how well you hold the tips. The tips of the chopsticks are only 2mm long, so they do not impair the feel in your mouth. If you would like to have the tips of your scraped chopsticks re-lacquered, you can pick them up at a Hyozaemon store. If it is difficult for you to visit the store, you will be responsible for the round-trip shipping costs. If you are an overseas customer, please contact us. Re-lacquering is free of charge.
