Changhua's Local Architectural Feature - Gobin Pavilion | Cement Car Diffuser Stone (Railway Hospital)

The Gobin Pavilion represents an early, highly avant-garde design in Changhua and was a venue for various cultural and commercial events. Constructed in 1937 during the Japanese colonial era, it later ceased operations due to factors like war. It was subsequently sold to the early Taiwan Governor-General's Office Transportation Bureau, which is the current Taiwan Railways Administration, and was used as the Railway Hospital. It is located on Chen Ling Road, less than 200 meters from Changhua Railway Station. Its extremely distinctive exterior, with a rare architectural form, and its interior retain some of the original elements like begonia and cross-shaped stained glass windows. The interior is primarily of Japanese colonial era wooden construction, while the exterior is distinctively shaped, resembling a locomotive.
