Accessories from the past were mostly handmade, with subtle variations in each detail, lending them an indescribable artisanal warmth. Most vintage Celine accessories are gold-plated in Italy. The plating from that era was exceptionally thick, so pieces that have survived to this day rarely show signs of discoloration or oxidation (unless heavily used to the point of plating wear).
