Our pearls, varying by type, are sourced from two major production areas: Japan and China. They are then expertly crafted in our professional jewelry workshops in China, ensuring consistent quality, exquisite craftsmanship, and the perfect presentation of the pearls' natural luster and charm.
🔹 Japanese Origin | Akoya (Sea of Japan) Saltwater Pearls, Godo Pearls
Akoya pearls are the most representative type of saltwater pearl. They are primarily cultivated in areas like Mie, Kumamoto, and Ehime in Japan, with the Seto Inland Sea coast being particularly renowned. Akoya pearls are nurtured by the **Pinctada fucata** oyster. Due to the small size of the oyster, each shell can only produce one pearl, and it requires approximately 3 years of meticulous cultivation, making their yield relatively scarce, and their quality and price consequently high.
Akoya pearls are nucleated pearls, known for their exceptional roundness and cool, brilliant luster, earning them the nickname "little light bulbs" in the pearl world and making them highly favored in the fine jewelry industry. Their surface often displays a natural "orange peel" texture. Opting for a special grade (with a Japanese certificate) offers near-flawless quality and even more translucent luster. Colors range from Sakura pink, snow white, blue-pink, cool blue iridescence, aurora gold, to queenly hues. The rare Godo (真多麻) color, a variation with a natural pink-purple iridescence, is highly sought after by collectors.
🔹 Chinese Origin | Freshwater Cultured Pearls
China is the world's largest producer of freshwater pearls, with production concentrated in Zhejiang, Hunan, Jiangsu, and Anhui. Freshwater pearls are primarily cultivated in large mussels like the Hyriopsis cumingii. A single mussel can produce dozens of pearls simultaneously, resulting in a far higher yield than saltwater pearls. In the past decade, with significant advancements in cultivation technology and selection standards, high-quality freshwater pearls now rival Akoya pearls in roundness, nacre compactness, and luster.
Although nucleated, top-grade freshwater pearls can achieve near-perfect roundness, a warm and translucent luster, and strong skin luster, all at a more accessible price point. They are an excellent choice for everyday wear and designer jewelry.
Whether you choose Akoya saltwater pearls or Chinese freshwater pearls, all items are crafted in our Chinese processing workshops, ensuring that every piece meets jewelry-grade standards from raw material to craftsmanship, adding elegant quality to your daily life.

Measure your wrist circumference and add 0.5–1cm for the recommended wearing length.
If you prefer a snug fit, choose 0.5cm larger; if you like a little room, add 1cm.
You may be familiar with Akoya pearls from Japan, but in fact, over 90% of the world's cultured pearls come from China, with many Akoya pearls also originating from China's southern coast.
China's pearl cultivation technology is highly mature, producing pearls with thick nacre, fine luster, and stable roundness and color quality.
This piece uses natural Chinese Akoya saltwater pearls, offering high quality and excellent value, with a naturally elegant rose-pink luster.
💡 What's the Difference Between Saltwater and Freshwater Pearls?
Saltwater pearls (like Akoya, South Sea, Black Pearls) typically form by coating a spherical bead nucleus with nacre. Their characteristics include rounder shapes, stronger luster, and distinct color layers. They are a more valuable type of pearl, often used in fine jewelry.
Freshwater pearls are mostly nucleated naturally by the nacre-secreting mother-of-pearl. While more affordable and diverse in variety, they usually fall slightly short in luster and roundness compared to saltwater pearls.
Choosing saltwater pearls, such as the Akoya used in this piece, signifies a higher standard for luster and quality.
💡 Wearing and Care Recommendations
・It is recommended to put on jewelry last and take it off first to avoid direct contact with perfumes and lotions.
・Pearls are organic gemstones; avoid contact with alcohol and acidic or alkaline liquids.
・It is recommended to gently wipe with a clean, soft cloth after each wear to prevent sweat from affecting the luster.
・Avoid dropping and heavy pressure; periodically check the metal clasp to prolong its lifespan.
If a certificate is required, please inquire via private message.

Unsure whether to choose Freshwater or Akoya Pearls?
Here's a comparison:
Akoya Cultured Pearls vs. Freshwater Cultured Pearls: Key Comparisons:
I. Origin & Cultivation
Akoya pearls are saltwater cultured pearls, primarily from Japan, but also cultivated in Vietnam and China. They are produced by the Pinctada fucata oyster, which requires a high-salinity marine environment with complex currents. Typically, one oyster yields one pearl. Akoya cultivation cycles are relatively long, about 3-5 years. Akoya annual production is low, accounting for about 10% of the world's total pearl production (saltwater pearls combined). Akoya was the first type of saltwater cultured pearl to enter commercial production in the early 1900s. Saltwater cultured pearls (including Akoya) are usually nucleated, with a spherical bead nucleus placed inside the oyster.
Freshwater pearls are cultured in freshwater environments like lakes and rivers, mainly in the lakes and rivers of China's Yangtze River basin, such as Zhejiang, Hunan, and Jiangsu. The primary host oysters for freshwater pearls are large mussels like the triangle shell mussel, growing in stable, controllable water conditions. One mussel can yield 10-40 or 30-50 pearls. Freshwater pearls mostly form naturally within the oyster without a nucleus (mainly nucleus-free cultivation), leading to less regular shapes. Freshwater pearl cultivation cycles are relatively short, about 1-3 years. Freshwater pearls account for the vast majority of global pearl production, about 95%. Nucleated freshwater pearls are also known as "Edison" pearls. Natural pearls and nucleus-free cultured pearls are almost entirely composed of nacre.
II. Appearance - Shape & Size
Shape:
Due to the spherical nucleus used in cultivation and a relatively thin nacre layer that helps maintain roundness, Akoya pearls typically achieve very round shapes with a high roundness rate. Over 90% of high-quality Akoya pearls are nearly perfectly round. Consumers usually encounter Akoya pearls with good roundness.
Freshwater cultured pearls (mainly nucleus-free) are naturally formed without a nucleus, making their shapes more prone to being oval or irregular. Over 80% of freshwater pearls on the market are oval, flattened oval, or baroque shapes, with a low proportion of perfectly round ones. Because they are nucleus-free, perfectly round freshwater pearls are extremely rare; near-round is the highest roundness grade. Nucleated freshwater pearls (Edison pearls) are similar in size to saltwater pearls but have lower roundness.
Size:
Akoya pearls are smaller, with pearls typically ranging from 6-9mm. Commercial production often falls within 6-8mm or 5-8mm. 8mm is considered a good size, with the largest Akoya reaching 10-11mm. Larger Akoya pearls are more valuable. Even a difference of 1mm, such as between 7-8mm and 8-9mm Akoya pearls, can result in a significant price difference.
The diameter range for freshwater cultured pearls is typically 5-12mm. Nucleated freshwater pearls (Edison pearls) can reach sizes of 12-20mm. South Sea pearls are usually 10-16mm, with those exceeding 16mm being relatively rare and valuable.
III. Appearance - Color
Akoya pearls are primarily white in body color. Common overtones include pink, light greenish-blue, and light yellowish-green, with pink being the most popular. Akoya pearls also come in blue tones (like Godo) and yellow tones (like Aurora Queen, Aurora Gold). Saltwater pearls (including Akoya) do not have purple hues. Pearl colors originate from minerals or natural pigments secreted by the mother-of-pearl.
The main colors of freshwater cultured pearls are white, pink, and light lavender. Purple is a unique color for freshwater pearls, derived from carotenoids in the triangle shell mussel. Nucleated freshwater pearls (Edison pearls) can exhibit deep purple or bronze colors. Freshwater pearls do not occur in pure black or deep gold. Some colors may be treated by bleaching or dyeing.
IV. Appearance - Luster
Pearl luster is a crucial factor in determining quality, even being considered its soul. Luster is related to the thickness and quality of the nacre layers. The stronger the luster, the more valuable the pearl, and the higher its price. Luster is the most significant value factor for pearls.
Akoya pearls are renowned for their very strong and beautiful luster, often called "little light bulbs of the world." Their luster is intense, producing sharp reflections and clear imaging. In top-quality comparisons, Akoya's mirror-like luster can reach levels higher than South Sea pearls. High-quality specimens can reflect a human face.
Freshwater cultured pearls have a relatively softer luster, characterized by diffused reflection, like silk. Some high-quality freshwater pearls can achieve good luster, reaching 70%-80% of that of saltwater pearls. Some top-grade freshwater pearls can exhibit "very strong luster." Freshwater pearl luster is shallower with weaker refractive effects. Pearl luster is divided into four grades: Very good, Good, Fair, and Poor.
V. Appearance - Surface Quality
Naturally produced pearls typically have minor blemishes on their surface. The fewer blemishes a pearl has, the better its quality. Perfectly flawless pearls are extremely rare and expensive.
Akoya pearls have higher surface smoothness, with blemishes mostly being small pinpricks.
Freshwater pearls may show growth lines such as wavy patterns or depressions on their surface.
VI. Physical Characteristics - Nacre Thickness & Durability
Nacre thickness is an important factor in evaluating nucleated cultured pearls. Nacre thickness affects the pearl's beauty and durability. If the nacre layer is too thin, it affects luster, and wear and tear may cause it to lose its shine or even develop "peeling."
Akoya pearls have a relatively thin nacre layer compared to other types of saltwater cultured pearls, typically between 0.15mm and 0.55mm. 0.5mm is considered a thick nacre for Akoya. According to GUILD standards, Akoya pearls with a nacre thickness greater than 0.4mm are considered high quality. Akoya is most sensitive to nacre thickness. The thinner nacre layer of Akoya helps it maintain its round shape.
Freshwater cultured pearls (mainly nucleus-free) typically have nacre layers ranging from 0.3 to 0.8mm. The internal structure of nucleus-free freshwater pearls is almost entirely composed of nacre. Prolonged wear of freshwater pearls may cause them to gradually lose their luster due to friction, resulting in a relatively shorter lifespan. Nucleated freshwater pearls (Edison) have thicker nacre layers, which can reach 0.8-3mm. Overall, saltwater pearls have thicker nacre layers and longer lifespans. Saltwater pearls (like South Sea, Tahitian) typically have nacre layers in the range of 0.8-3mm; South Sea pearls can have nacre up to 2mm, which is 60 to 100 times that of Akoya.
VII. Daily Wear & Suitability
Due to their high luster and roundness, and classic white color, Akoya pearls are a very popular choice for everyday wear. They are suitable for versatile necklace styles that exude elegance, luxury, and classic charm. They are also appropriate for formal occasions, weddings, and business gifts.
Freshwater cultured pearls, due to their affordability (thanks to China's high production volume and cultivation methods) and diverse colors (especially baroque shapes), are a popular choice for daily commutes and casual wear. High-quality freshwater pearls (with very strong luster, near-round shape, and minimal blemishes) are visually indistinguishable from saltwater pearls to the naked eye and offer excellent value, making them very suitable for everyday wear. They are ideal for students, young professionals, or lovers of baroque pearls. If you have a limited budget and primarily wear jewelry daily, high-quality freshwater pearls are an excellent option. From a pure utility perspective, there is very little difference in the user experience between high-quality freshwater pearls and saltwater pearls.
