The Amis revere nature, believing all blessings come from the natural world, and their early livelihoods depended on fishing, hunting, and agriculture. Their main festival is the Harvest Festival, celebrating the bountiful harvest of millet, honoring spirits, and holding significant educational meaning for young men transitioning into adulthood. The six traditional Amis totems are: Mother's Eyes representing maternal love and harmony; Holding Hands Dancing symbolizing the harvest celebration; Ocean Waves representing a life of fishing and hunting; Feathers symbolizing warriors; and Unity of Heaven and Man representing the cosmos. Inspired by traditional life and celebrations, this piece combines six traditional totems.
